An Ayurvedic Wooden Massage Table  also known as a "Droni"  is specifically designed to support traditional Ayurvedic therapies such as Abhyanga, Shirodhara, Pizhichil, etc. These therapies often involve the use of herbal oils, so the design and materials of the table must accommodate oil drainage, heat, and moisture.

What an Ayurvedic Wooden Massage Table Contains

1. Table Structure / Frame

• Made from solid hardwood, traditionally Neem wood, Rosewood, or Teak known for their durability, resistance to oil absorption, and medicinal properties.

• Built as a single carved unit or jointed sections, depending on craftsmanship and cost.

2. Droni (Therapy Surface)

• A boat-shaped (concave) or slightly sloped surface to allow oil to drain properly.

• Raised edges or borders (approx. 24 inches high) to contain herbal oils used during treatment.

3. Oil Drainage System

• A central drainage hole at one end of the table.

• Connects to a removable drain pipe or copper funnel to collect and reuse/dispose of oils.

• Oil collection vessel or pot placed below the drain.

4. Headrest / Shirodhara Cutout

• A detachable wooden headrest with a face hole for comfort during prone position.

• In some cases, a Shirodhara bowl holder is attached above the head area for pouring warm oil on the forehead.

5. Mattress or Padding (Optional)

• Traditional models have no mattress, as they are used with large quantities of oil.

• Some modern models include a thin, waterproof foam mattress or medicated cloth layer for client comfort.

6. Legs/Base

• Solid wooden legs for stability.

7. Polish / Finish
